The Jade was founded in the summer of 2004 in the Eastern Helsinki. In the fall of the same year the Heatwave EP (independent) was recorded and the
band started touring.
Their next release, Slow Motions on the Fast Lanes (independent), came out in the
end of 2006 and achieved good reception also internationally. It was widely played
in various internet and FM radio stations for example in Germany and in the U.S.
The band gained attention also through the popular MySpace site and people who
loved their music founded fan pages and street teams.

In the spring of 2008 The Jade signed a record deal with the indie label North &
South.

The sound of The Jade is durable, up-to-date and constantly revived. It’s aggressive yet subtle; it’s as catchy and groovy as it’s melodic.Contrasting and unique, it’s
packed with igniting energy and depth. The British influence is no mistake, the most of the band members have lived in London for some time. Furthermore Wille appeared singing most of the backing vocals at the debut album
of Widesreen Mode, whose heavy metal single “Everlasting Bomb”hit the charts and
ended to be number one in the official Finnish downloading charts. The Jade is an energetic live band, whose members share the same passion and their
mission is music. The group aims to have an international career and has already supported bands
such as Poets Of The Fall and Dingo in their home country.
In April 2008, during their two week’s German tour, a local promoter saw them live
and invited The Jade to join Matthau Mikojan’s tour in Germany in October 2008. The tour includes the most major cities and a show in Switzerland also. Their first official record, the single Drowning, was released in July 2008. So the story has just begun.
